Not your typical Amish fiction

A Robin's Snow is not your typical Amish Fiction book. Which makes it a refreshing read, if you can put the typical Amish fiction stories to the side. Although the story is about Annie Finley, an Amish wife/mother whose life is tragically altered by an accident, it takes you to a world outside of this realm in which Annie seeks revenge, which is not of the Amish norm, against those who were the cause of the accident. I did find parts of it unbelievable, but this is fiction. Barbara Ward had me in tears with the emotions brought out in the accident. I felt as though I was feeling what Annie was feeling. I was given this book to read. This is my review and not influenced by anyone other than my own opinions on this book. I recommend it as a change of the normal pace of Amish fiction.

This was a great book. A fast read and it kept your interest. There was romance, intrigue, mystery, the whole nine yards.
The author gave you a realistic view into Amish life vs. English life. I found the gun issue to be ironic given what the country
is going through right now. Of course, good triumphing over evil is always satisfying. Lori M.

Richard Montauk is the author of How to Get into the Top Law Schools and How to Get into the Top Colleges, as well as the founder and president of Degree of Difference, a firm that has helped thousands of applicants get into the world's top law and business schools. You Will Be Disadvantaged Without it

I'm currently a senior at Cornell University, and if there has been one book that has effectively navigated my Law School Application Process, it has been Mr.Montauk's "How to get into the Top Law Schools" guide. Mr Montauk will decribe, in depth, the best way to prepare your personal satement, resume, and how to proceed if waitlsited or rejected by your top choice. He also effectively communicates how to choose the right school for you, preferred LSAT course, and how to minimize the cost of Law School and how to construct your marketing strategy. The book also includes quotes from real Law School Deans on what they expect from applicants and what they can do to maximize their strenghs and minize their weaknesses. Simply put, this is the best guide on the market that guides you from deciding on Law School to what to expect in your law career. I whole heartedly recommend this book.

Most of the work to get into law school is done in college and on the LSAT

This book is nice. It goes through all the different areas that law schools focus on when looking at an application. GPA? Check. LSAT score? Check. Application packet? Check.

What you should know, however, is that this book is almost useless if you are reading it right before you take the LSAT and are getting ready to write your application packet up. Why? Because GPA and LSAT score are the MOST important factors in getting in to a top law school. It's like a job application, your credentials get you in the door and you personality gets you the job. Thing is, in this case, your credentials are your GPA and your LSAT and your personality is the application packet. You won't even get considered if you don't have a good GPA and a good LSAT score.

I just want to let you know this before you buy the book. I thought the application packet was more important than it was and was sorely disappointed to know that although I had good grades and a good packet (in my opinion), my LSAT was low and therefore I wouldn't get in to a top law school.

By the way, as a soon to be graduate, the legal market for jobs is terrible and if you are looking at going to law school, my suggestion is to really consider it as three years from now you could be in massive debt and pulling your hair out looking for a job.

Must read for anyone thinking of applying

This is by far the best book I've read to prepare myself for the dreaded application process, I truly feel like I have an advantage over others who haven't read it. What I like a lot is that this book starts off discussing the realities of law school and the legal profession in general. The book would be of best use to those who are far from applying, however one of the great elements about it is that it also accommodates to those who will be applying fairly soon. It also does a great job discussing the possible ways to improve one's applications even if their credentials are not top notch. Great book, if you are merely thinking about applying to law school (even if you are not aiming for a top institution), I highly suggest you read this!

Great book as a wound care resource

This was the book used for my wound portion of my wound, ostomy, continence certification program. The book had great pictures. The book does a good job of explaining the anatomy and physiology of wounds and what is required to obtain optimal wound healing.

One of the best textbooks on QFT

There are numerous textbooks in Quantum Field Theory. Most of them are very accurate and complete in describing the mathematical apparatus of QFT. Unfortunately, very few are the ones which explain the physics aspects of QFT in details. For a beginner (as well as for an "expert") the physics aspects of QFT are usually elusive and hard to understand. Schweber's textbook is unique in a sense that both mathematics and physics features of QFT are lucidly described and explained.

I would strongly recommend to solve the problems from the book; most of them address the "physics feature" of QFT, and the reader will benefit immensely by analyzing these problems .

There are some other very good textbooks; I would single out Walter Thirring - "Principles of Quantum Electrodynamics", Ernest Henley and Walter Thirring - "Elementary Quantum Field Theory", Gunnar Kallen - "Quantum Electrodynamics", James Bjorken and Sidney Drell - "Relativistic Quantum Fields" etc, but, as I see it, only Schweber's and Weinberg's monographies are the complete and complementary (physics & mathematics) description of Quantum Field Theory.

ancient, but still full of useful stuff

As I re-learn quantum field theory, I've sorted through almost all the standard texts. I have gained a new appreciation of Schweber's book. It contains many detailed calculations that are hard to find elsewhere. It is long because it does out calculations, clearly and carefully. If nothing else, it is a really good reference to have at hand as you work through newer texts.

About the Author
Rose Weitz received her doctoral degree from Yale University in 1978. Since then, she has carved an exceptional record as both a scholar and a teacher. She is the author of numerous scholarly articles, the book LIFE WITH AIDS (Rutgers, 1991), and the book RAPUNZEL'S DAUGHTERS: WHAT WOMEN'S HAIR TELLS US ABOUT WOMEN'S LIVES (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2004). She is also co-author of LABOR PAINS: MODERN MIDWIVES AND HOME BIRTH (Yale University Press, 1988) and co-editor of THE POLITICS OF WOMEN'S BODIES: APPEARANCE, SEXUALITY, AND BEHAVIOR (published by Oxford University Press and now in its fourth edition). Professor Weitz has won two major teaching awards at Arizona State University, as well as the Pacific Sociological Associations' Distinguished Contributions to Teaching Award, and has been a finalist for other teaching awards numerous times.

Great book about medical sociology

I bought htis book for my medical sociology course. I really like it and I decided not to sell the book at the end of the semester. It's a medium sized book, not too heavy and big. I like the topics presented in this book and how they affect society's health as a whole. The book also make me think about things that I don't think are even a problem. For instance, the medicalization of childbirth or assisted reproduction.

Wow. I rented this book because it is required for the sociology class I'm taking this semester and I must say, there are many grammatical/spelling errors in this book! I wonder if she got this book peer reviewed? Was it read by an editor? Shocking! Otherwise, it's easy to understand, so that's a plus.

In this latest offering he tells how to deal with the fragmentation of markets by building brand identity, creating brand personality, and managing a brand system. With extensive case studies and illustrations of companies' ads, he emphasizes positioning a brand personality to match that of the consumer being targeted. Kingsford, known for its charcoal, tried to move into a line of foods but failed, unable to shake its charcoal image. Healthy Choice created the perception that healthy foods can taste good. Saturn developed from a new company in an old industry and had to "sell the company, not the car." Aaker's well-written book is for specialists in the field of marketing. Branding appears to be a mushy, unquantifiable subject. Before I bought this book I read through countless articles on the subject that just didn't make much sense. Reading Aaker's book provided the opposite experience: crystal clear, a compelling argument for why brand matters and how best to build one.

I couldn't wait for The Devil's Wrath to come out. I have loved all of C.M. Owens books and this one didn't disappoint! With a few twists and turns, she had me laughing and crying throughout the whole thing. You definitely have to read this one!!!

I loved this book

I loved this book. It had so many twists and turns, ups and downs, but got me where I wanted to be in the end. It's finally time for the final war with Misal, but we don't know who else he is working with. We also have strange developments with Arena that could destroy her and her and Kace. We still have our cast of bad-ass girls and their men and we get more time with the future little Ms. All-Around SaShante. Julius continues to be one of the best characters but each character has grown with each book. They are all appreciated. We get introduced to Carter, but we still have to endure Ebony. I'm not sure I've ever disliked a character more and for so many reasons. I hate her more than Arena hates peacocks!

This is a wildly entertaining story with an outcome that is never certain, only hoped for. Arena and Kace continue to have great chemistry and inspire their friends and the rest of people. To see good people rewarded and bad punished can be very satisfying. And the little glimpse we get down the road was wonderful. This book was an excellent conclusion to the love story of Arena and Kace. A book focused on such a strong woman that constantly becomes a better human, touching lives all over is a worthy book in itself. Add a man who loves her so completely that he will not only do anything for her, but is honest and open to all about his love makes it an even better read. Together they are unstoppable. They can make the world better for all.

I loved this book. A good ending to this trilogy. The ending had me scared about what was going to happen to Arena or Kace. Then she ends it on a happy note!!!
