Interesting concept I suspect the physical copy reads better. But on the Kindle 8.9 the map doesn't zoom large enough to be readable and the story flow is not as enjoyable.

Great book! Get it!

Very, very good. Each one of the 52 Earths that exist within the DC Multiverse are given their own file that is either one page or one-half page long (except that there are 7 Earth that DC Comics wishes to keep a mystery at present). The framing story works, and attempts to account for other previous depictions of the DC Multiverse. In this fictional setting the chibi Batman of Earth 42 is the one who is reading the 52 "earth-files".

A good guide to bad ideas

Multiversity Guidebook was a use primer to the morass that was Convergeance grew ever more complex in DC's "streamlined" new 52. As that cluster gives way to Rebirth/Reboot is will probably be usefull as a guide to where some of the "new" ideas come from. It still won't explain all of the bad ideas that will give birth to even worse ideas (mulitple Supermen anyone?); but it will help you keep track. Which is more than DC has done in the last 5 years.

About the Author

Glenn Hubbard, policymaker, professor, and researcher. R. Glenn Hubbard is the dean and Russell L. Carson Professor of Finance and Economics in the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University and professor of economics in Columbia’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences. He is also a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research and a director of Automatic Data Processing, Black Rock Closed-End Funds, and MetLife. He received his Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University in 1983. From 2001 to 2003, he served as chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers and chairman of the OECD Economic Policy Committee, and from 1991 to 1993, he was deputy assistant secretary of the U.S. Treasury Department. He currently serves as co-chair of the nonpartisan Committee on Capital Markets Regulation. Hubbard’s fields of specialization are public economics, financial markets and institutions, corporate finance, macroeconomics, industrial organization, and public policy. He is the author of more than 100 articles in leading journals, including American Economic Review, Brookings Papers on Economic Activity, Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking, Journal of Political Economy, Journal of Public Economics, Quarterly Journal of Economics, RAND Journal of Economics, and Review of Economics and Statistics. His research has been supported by grants from the National Science Foundation, the National Bureau of Economic Research, and numerous private foundations.

Tony O’Brien, award-winning professor and researcher. Anthony Patrick O’Brien is a professor of economics at Lehigh University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1987. He has taught principles of economics for more than 20 years, in both large sections and small honors classes. He received the Lehigh University Award for Distinguished Teaching. He was formerly the director of the Diamond Center for Economic Education and was named a Dana Foundation Faculty Fellow and Lehigh Class of 1961 Professor of Economics. He has been a visiting professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and the Graduate School of Industrial Administration at Carnegie Mellon University. O’Brien’s research has dealt with issues such as the evolution of the U.S. automobile industry, the sources of U.S. economic competitiveness, the development of U.S. trade policy, the causes of the Great Depression, and the causes of black—white income differences. His research has been published in leading journals, including American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking, Industrial Relations, Journal of Economic History, and Explorations in Economic History. His research has been supported by grants from government agencies and private foundations.

When I first started as a runner in a studio almost 30 years ago, I was sat down by the Chief Engineer and told that the most vital thing to understand and remember is that music production is 95% psychology and 5% technology. In my view way too much of the material out there focuses on the 5% technology so I want to redress the balance.

I intend this little book of big concepts to be the first in a series. My hope is that readers will give constructive feedback with requests for other areas that they would like covered in the future.

I was lucky to have started in the old system where if you wanted to be a music producer you did an apprenticeship in a recording studio shadowing established producers and you learnt as you went along. If you were lucky you got to observe some of the greats of music and production create masterpieces that stood the test of time. I was extremely lucky!

My career has taken me from Ireland, the UK, around Europe, USA and to Australia. I have met and collaborated with some of the greats in music production and artists. Some of the ones I am most proud of are U2, Def Leppard (Hysteria album, Depeche Mode (Violator Album), Black Sabbath, Yes and many more. Since 2002 I have been a tutor at BIMM (Brighton Institute of Modern Music) and have developed a real passion for music education, especially as the opportunities that I had, are not their any more.

Good theoretical overview but left a lot to be desired

There's a lot of good content here but it was pretty bland and uninteresting. It's not a long read but it was hard to want to finish it all and I am someone genuinely interested in music production.

"For a long time, the accepted view on the early Jewish Christian community has been that after the Jewish war against the Romans that ended in AD 70 with the destruction of Jerusalem, the Jewish Christian community became a marginal phenomenon and soon disappeared in the Gentile Christian church. The contributions to the present book on Jewish believers in Jesus result in a fundamental revision of this picture. It shows that more or less close relations between Jewish believers in Jesus Christ and Judaism continued at least into the Constantinian period (4th century) in spite of the endeavors of leaders on both sides to get their view of a fundamental opposition between Judaism and Christianity generally accepted. I consider the accumulated evidence for the revision of this picture very persuasive. It amounts to a strong suggestion that for a long period the disagreements concerning the person of Jesus did not prevent a continuing awareness of the fact that Jewish believers in Jesus and even Christians from the Gentiles could feel they believe in the same God as the Jews did. This view of the relationship should also have an impact on contemporary Jewish-Christian dialogue."

Excellent, dispassionate scholarship

The previous review, which accuses this massive volume of engaging in apologetics is actually an example of apologetics itself. In point of fact, the scholars involved in this project on the history of Jewish believers in Jesus are far more nuanced in their treatment than the reviewer imagines, and they are well aware of the different groups that would be included under heading of "Jewish believers in Jesus." This volume is actually the first of its kind, demonstrating the ongoing presence and influence of these believers in the early centuries of Church history, despite the every-growing influences of supersessionism. Church historians and historical theologians cannot ignore this important book, which represents the first in a series authored by a multi-national, multi-confessional team of scholars, not polemicists or apologists.

An Amazing Historical Account

Scholarship is indebted to this leading scholar, Oskar Skarsaune, the former dean of the Lutheran Theological School in Oslo. This tells a little told but important story of the history of Jewish followers of Jesus. For some such followers, Jewish identity was thin, but for others, it was deep. Skarsaune draws upon other writers who have expertise in the different historical periods. The book is descriptive and not apologetic. However, the very nature of exposing this history shows that there is some sympathy with this Jewish disciples of Jesus. Christians and Jews really do need to own this volume to fill in a unique gap in historical theology and Church and Jewish history.
